TN HIMSS and the Center for Executive Education at Belmont University Announce Health Information Technology Workforce Accelerator Graduates and Call for Fall 2017 Applicants

 

Nashville, Tenn. – June 1, 2017 – Today the Tennessee Chapter of HIMSS and the Center for Executive Education at Belmont University, announce 12 graduates of the Workforce Accelerator program’s 2017 Spring class, and launch its annual call for applications for the 2017 Fall class. The 14-week certification program prepares healthcare IT professionals in Middle Tennessee with skills and knowledge to help them navigate the evolving healthcare landscape and to meet the requirements of emerging positions.

Designed for healthcare professionals of all levels, background and careers, the workforce accelerator program teaches students how the blending of healthcare and information technology can be utilized to impact care outcomes, the future of healthcare and business processes in healthcare. With educational opportunities in the healthcare provider, payer and vendor settings led by HIT professionals, students experience real-life challenges and discover best practices to bring into their careers and current positions.

 The current class of graduates includes healthcare and healthcare technology professionals from healthcare services companies, startups and industry disruptors throughout Tennessee, including:

The accelerator is a certification program for individuals throughout Tennessee pursuing careers in the healthcare information technology sector. Objectives include preparing workforce-ready healthcare IT professionals through specialized training with industry professional and HIMSS member companies. Curriculum is taught by healthcare professionals and is aimed to help students navigate the path of a complete understanding of healthcare information technology with a detailed view of the U.S. healthcare system and policies; understand specialized knowledge about healthcare IT systems and processes; gain an understanding of vendor solutions; utilize team-based skills and experience real-life situations.
