I officially became the President of TN HIMSS on July 1, 2022. I would like to thank the Board of Directors for their confidence in me to lead this organization. TN HIMSS is one of the largest and most respected HIMSS Chapters in the nation. In the past we have been recognized for providing quality content and education for our members. I am looking forward to working with the Board and our members to ensure our national leadership continues and grows.
We have a great line-up of events scheduled for the fall and are already working to build a solid Summit in the Spring (events and dates can be found on our website). We partner with Belmont University to provide an educational experience through our HIT Accelerator program. Our latest class kicked off on August 15 with 19 students. I am excited to continue working to provide content and networking opportunities that allow our members to grow in their careers and knowledge of HIT.
The pandemic created challenges for everyone, and we were not immune from that. Our membership stayed strong through the challenges of virtual events, and we have begun the process of continued growth. Our membership has grown, and we are providing in-person events that allow us to meet and discuss challenges and trends in the different organizations represented throughout our membership.
I appreciate this opportunity and look forward to meeting and working with members throughout the state of Tennessee.
