The Tennessee Chapter of HIMSS is proud to announce the successful conclusion of its Inaugural Hackathon focused on Generative AI in healthcare. This pioneering event, held in Nashville, brought together the brightest minds in technology and healthcare to drive innovation in the provider sector.

Winners Announced in Diverse Categories

The Hackathon featured two divisions: the Open Division and the Academic Division, each showcasing remarkable talent and innovation.

In the fiercely contested Open Division, Team Ronin from Ronin Consulting emerged as the division and overall winner, with their innovative solution in healthcare leveraging Generative AI. Following them was Red Panda from Kaduceo, taking the second place in both the division and overall standings.

The Academic Division saw impressive participation from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and Belmont University, with TrueBlueMD clinching the top position and MediQ securing the second place (both from MTSU).

Judges Panel: A Blend of Expertise and Insight

The preliminary rounds of the competition were evaluated by an esteemed panel from the investor community, comprising of Nolan Young (Nashville Capital Network), Lindsay Valdez (Caduceus Capital), Caleb Dixon (SwitchPoint Ventures), Matt Schappell (Frist Cressey Ventures), and Andrew Bouldin (FCA Venture Partners).

The final round featured a distinguished panel of judges, including Alan Smith (LifePoint Health), Robert Cook (AMSURG), Paul Currie (HCA Healthcare), Neal Patel (Vanderbilt University Medical Center), Rick Keller (Ardent Health Services), and Paul Novak (Community Health Systems).Their expertise and insights were instrumental in determining the winners of this competitive event.
